Noble, a film by Stephen Bradley about Irish woman Christina Noble, has won an award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

The honour bestowed on the film was the Panavision Spirit Award for Independent Cinema and the prize included a camera package work $60,000.

Amy Huberman's brother Mark, who stars in the film, was on hand to accept the award on behalf of Bradley.

Noble tells the true story of Christina Noble, played by Deirdre O'Kane, a woman who overcame the difficulties of her childhood in Ireland and went to Saigon to discover her destiny.

Ruth Negga and Liam Cunningham also star in the film which is set for release in September.
