Saturday evening BBC One musical talent show The Voice UK is to have a weeknight spin-off on BBC Two.

The half-hour show will be presented by Zoe Ball and will be broadcast at 6.30pm Monday to Friday.

The BBC says the show will be "packed with exclusive interviews from the superstar coaches, special live performances from the finalists and all the goings-on and gossip from behind-the-scenes".

The title and start date for the spin-off will be announced in the coming weeks.

Ball said: "I'm super excited to be involved in The Voice UK, and I'm doing some star jumps and squats to limber up for action as I speak.

"Fans can think of me as the nosey naughty one who can ask questions we all want answering by their favourite acts and of course [coaches] Kylie, Tom, and Ricky. I shall bring everyone a little closer to the action and I promise not to sing!"
