Matt Damon has paid tribute to his Talented Mr. Ripley co-star Philip Seymour Hoffman.

In an interview with Good Morning America, Damon said that Oscar winning Hoffman was "was one of the best actors that ever lived without a doubt".

He added: "And he was an even better person. He was a beautiful person. It's horrible".

Hoffman, 46, died on Sunday February 2 from an apparent drug overdose and was found in his Manhattan apartment.
