B.J. Novak's Amazing Spiderman 2 character has been revealed.
The former star of The Office is set to play Alistair Smythe, the son of Spencer Smythe, one of Spider-Man's most revered enemies and inventor of the Spider Slayer robots in the comic books.
The actor joined The Amazing Spider-Man sequel last March, but his character was kept under wraps until Monday (February 3), when director Marc Webb spilled the beans on Twitter.
He wrote: "Almost shot ASM2 in B+W til @bjnovak's (A. Smythe) promo for his excellent book ONE MORE THING beat me to it."
Novak, who is probably best known for playing Ryan Howard in NBCs The Office, is set to release a debut collection of short stories, One More Thing, this week.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn, Paul Giamatti as Rhino and Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn.
