The Cure have announced that they are releasing a new album.

The band will release their 14th studio album, the follow-up to 2008's 4:13 Dream, this year.

The record, which is called 4:14 Scream, is set to be released in the next few months, along with a series of live concert DVDs.

The Friday I'm in Love hitmakers are also planning to mark 35 years since the release of their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys, with a tour in 2014.

The rockers plan to perform their 1980s albums The Top, The Head On The Door and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me in their entirety.

Frontman Robert Smith and his band members Simon Gallip, Roger O'Donnell, Jason Cooper and Reeves Gabrels are also set to play two sold out Teenage Cancer Trust shows at London's Royal Albert Hall next month.
