Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos has accused producer Pharrell Williams of "borrowing" a riff from the band.

Williams has worked with Paloma Faith on the new single Can't Rely on You, the first track to be taken from the London-based singer's new album A Perfect Contradiction.

Posting on Twitter, Kaparanos appeared to suggest that the song borrows generously from an unnamed Franz Ferdinand song.

Discussing the song, which has a riff running throughout it that does sound like Franz Ferdinand's 2004 single Take Me Out, Kapranos wrote: "Hey @Pharrell - I love your tunes. If you want to borrow a riff, just ask... "

Williams has yet to respond.
