Darcey Bussell has revealed she does not know if she will return to the Strictly Come Dancing panel for the next series of the hugely popular show.

The critically acclaimed dancer first joined the panel during the final stages of the 2009 series of the talent competition, before successfully replacing Alesha Dixon full-time in 2012.

However, when asked recently what it felt like to now be a permanent fixture on the show Bussell responded: "I don't know if I am a permanent fixture."

She added she didn't know yet if she would be returning for the show: "I have no idea actually, I just take one day at a time at the moment. I'm not contracted yet. I'm still waiting to hear."

Bussell was also quizzed as to why she has not joined her colleagues on the Strictly Come Dancing live tour. She responded: "I've been on tour all my life and I have to say it's really nice to stay at home and be with my kids.

"When the live show's on for the three odd months that it's on, that's brilliant and it's very exciting. The guys have been doing it for a long time and I'll leave them to it."
