Grammy winning singer Lorde seems to be having a tough time with all of the attention since she returned to her home country of New Zealand.

She took to Twitter after she and her family were "almost pushed over" by media at Auckland Airport.

According to The Huffington Post and E! Online she wrote a series of now deleted tweets on @Lordemusic: "I know that success comes with a price tag. it just sucks when you see that in your tiny home country where you previously felt safe."

The 17-year-old Royals singer added: "There is a difference between attn [sic] from fans, which I love, and the constant, often lecherous gaze that I'm subjected to in this industry."

The singer who won two Grammy Awards on Sunday night for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance added: "I understand that people of note are supposedly fair game for everyone to photograph and film but that doesn't make it acceptable.

"NZ media almost pushed over myself and my family at the airport this morning in order to get their shots, bit of a sad welcome if i'm honest. [sic]"
