Tate Donovan is the latest actor to be cast in the 24 revival.
The Hostages star will play Audrey Raines' (Kim Raver) husband Mark Boudreau in 24: Live Another Day.
Bourdeau is the White House Chief of Staff, an astute and strong-willed political advisor to President James Heller (William Devane), who is his wife's father.
Kiefer Sutherland is set to reprise his role as Jack Bauer in the show's limited run alongside Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe.
Sutherland recently said that he hopes a 24 feature film happens.
He explained: "The script for the film is very different. The film is an ongoing situation. There's always an opportunity to do that.
"But [showrunner Howard Gordon] came up for a 12-episode run of this and this opportunity presented to us first. It's a fantastic idea. If this ends up causing a film to be made, so be it."
24: Live Another Day will premiere on Fox in the US on May 5 with a two-hour special.
Donovan previously starred in Damages, The OC and Friends.
