The Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie is in talks to join Z for Zachariah.

The Australian actress is currently in negotiations to join the cast of director Craig Zobel's post-apocalyptic thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Chris Pine and 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor have already been cast in the film which centres on an American teen who has survived a nuclear war.

Amanda Seyfriend was originally cast as the teen, but due to the start date being pushed back she could no longer commit to the role.

It has been reported that Robbie would replace Seyfried and the character will be aged up accordingly.

The script for Z for Zachariah has been adapted by Nissar Modi from Robert C. O'Brien's novel.

Robbie can currently be seen in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill.
