Northern Irish golfer Rory McIIroy has started the new year with a bang celebrating his engagement to long-time girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki.
McIIroy wrote a message on his Twitter page (@McIIroyRory) to his 1.8 million followers: "Happy New Year everyone! I have a feeling it's going to be a great year!! My first victory of 2014 #shesaidyes!!"
He also posted pictures of his fiancé, the Danish tennis player sporting her new rock and Wozniacki also took to Twitter to celebrate the good news.
She tweeted (@CaroWozniacki): "Happy New Year everyone! Rory and I started 2014 with a bang! ... I said YES!!!!"
