Mark Wright has given fiancée Michelle Keegan's upcoming exit storyline from Coronation Street his seal of approval.

Keegan will leave the soap, and her character of Tina, behind in the New Year and Wright has said she will be going out with a bang.

Speaking to Digital Spy he said, "I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very dramatic storyline. She's spoken about it all the time, so [I'm sure] it's going to be watched by millions. I think it's a great way for her to go. She's going out with a bang, and that's the way to do it, instead of going off quietly.

"I think everything she does on that show is incredible. Every time I watch it, I smile. I'm so proud of her."

The couple became engaged in September and since they began dating he has more interest in keeping up-to-date with the show, "I never was a big Corrie fan...but of course I watch [now]. I keep up with her storylines, and her on-screen romances."

Wright added that jealousy isn't an issue when watching her in an on-screen relationship, "There's no jealousy. I think when I first saw it I was a bit like, 'Woah', then after that it was fine. It's her job."
