Joe Jonas is eager to avoid comparisons to Justin Timberlake as he embarks on a solo career.

The 24-year-old singer, who recently parted ways with his band The Jonas Brothers, hopes to avoid comparisons to other artists who have left boybands, like Justin Timberlake did with 'N Sync.

Speaking to NYLON, Joe said: "I've heard it before, when I did my solo project. People would be like, 'I hear the Justin influence.' I'd say 'No! Don't say that!' He's somebody that I respect, but I want to have my own identity."

Joe released a solo album, Fastlife, in 2011.
