Eddie Izzard has confirmed that he will be returning to Hannibal as the unsettling US drama heads into its second season.
The British comic and actor previously starred as psychopathic killer Abel Gideon in two episodes of the first run, shown this side of the Atlantic on Sky Living.
"I will be back," Izzard told Digital Spy while promoting his latest comedy tour. "Everyone's given me great feedback on Hannibal and I've only done two episodes - I really let go in that one!"
Meanwhile, Hannibal lead Hugh Dancy has suggested that his troubled character, FBI Special Investigator Will Graham, will be stronger in season two.
"I feel that Will, albeit in a pretty unpleasant way, has had the scales completely removed from his eyes, and is . . . possibly stronger now than he ever has been before," said the English actor.
Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon will play a recurring role in season two of Hannibal, which will air on Sky Living in early 2014.
