Bill Murray is to make a rare TV appearance as he's signed-up to feature in US cable channel HBO's upcoming miniseries Olive Kitteridge.
Based on Elizabeth Strout's award-winning novel of the same name, the drama is set in a New England town plagued with crime, tragedy and sordid affairs and will feature Frances McDormand in the title role.
According to Deadline, Murray will play Jack Dennison, a widower befriended by Kitteridge. The series will also feature John Gallagher Jr (The Newsroom) and Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad), while McDormand will double-up as excecutive producer.
HBO is yet to confirm a launch date for Olive Kitteridge.
