The former Coronation Street actress had to pull out of her performance on last night's Strictly Come Dancing after fainting twice on set.

The 29-year-old soap star was forced to cancel her appearance on the dancing show last night (Nov 9), after medics deemed her unfit to perform. Natalie fainted twice during dress rehearsals with her partner Artem Chigvintsev and was sent to hospital for a full check-up.

As per the rules of the BBC One celebrity dancing competition, Natalie and Artem will have a free pass through to next week's show, which is taking place in Blackpool.

Last night a spokesperson for the show said: "Natalie Gumede will not perform in tonight's Strictly Come Dancing after fainting twice during rehearsals today.

"She has been checked by the medical team on site, and will have further medical checks later so in unable to dance tonight.

"As per the rules of Strictly she will have a 'bye' through to next week and the show."

Natalie and Artem had been due to perform a jive to Tina Turner classic, Proud Mary.
