Billboard reports that legendary rocker Lou Reed left the majority of his estate to his wife, musician Laurie Anderson.

The couple married in 2008 and had no children, and Reed’s property includes his two New York residences - a Manhattan penthouse and his home in East Hampton.

In addition to Anderson, Reed's sister Margaret Reed Weiner, is reported to have been the other main beneficiary and has inherited about a quarter of his estate and a further $500,000 to look after their elderly mother.

Meanwhile, all the lucrative licensing and copyrights for Reed's music will be looked after by his business manager and accountant.

Lou Reed died on October 27 with the cause of death confirmed as liver failure. That leaves John Cale and Moe Tucker as the only surviving members of The Velvet Underground.
