The Simpsons has paid tribute to Marcia Wallace in the opening credits of the latest episode aired in America.
The lines Bart Simpson writes on a blackboard during the opening credits of the animated TV show were replaced with the words 'We'll really miss you Mrs. K', in tribute to Marcia Wallace who passed away on October 26, aged 70.
Fans reacted positively to the tribute on Twitter after the show aired in the States last night.
Simpsons producer Al Jean recently said of the actress: "I was tremendously saddened to learn of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace.
"She was beloved by all at The Simpsons and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character."
Wallace had voiced the role of school teacher Edna Krabappel since 1990.
