Ruth Negga has been cast in the pilot episode of The Money, the new power and corruption-themed series from HBO which stars Brendan Gleeson.
She will play Erin Foley, a senior news editor who reports to the show's main character, media mogul James Castman (Gleeson).
Negga will be a series regular if the drama is given a full season.
It was announced last month that Negga had been cast in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
She will soon be seen on cinema screens in Twelve Years a Slave, which opens on January 24.
