Kit Harrington and Lena Headey say that season 4 of Game of Thrones will be “high octane and action packed”.

Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister, told Access Hollywood, “I’m just gonna say the stakes are higher than they ever have been. It’s just getting better and better.”

Harrington, who plays Jon Snow (no, that one!), gave some details about what his character will be up to in the next season.

“He’s a bit in the wars, old Jon Snow. And it doesn’t get any easier this season. It’s kind of high-octane, action-packed."

On his love story with Ygritte (Rose Leslie), he commented, “Me and Rose, we’re as close to a love story as you get in the show. You have to follow that up and see what happens in this season.”

Both stars also spoke about author George RR Martin’s love of killing off main characters with Harrington saying, “[There will be] more deaths this season than any other! I can’t tell you who dies."

He added: “You’d think they’d tone down the deaths now, but they don’t. They’ve realised that’s a successful option, so they’re just killing more people than they’ve ever killed.”

After the Red Wedding episode it was made truly clear that nobody is safe and Headey commented that she is always afraid Cersei will be next as she hasn’t read the books, “I admitted while sitting next to George [RR Martin] that I hadn’t read the books and now I fear for my life.”

The new season of Game of Thrones is currently being filmed and will return next year.
