Jessie J has said she thinks that some popstars are “mean” and “miserable” when they’re not on camera or on stage.

The 25-year-old singer whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish when she herself is not on camera or on stage, says she gave up drinking and avoids parties as she likes to be professional and focus on her career.

She told The Observer, “I like my life to be pure and clean and organised and I like to have had eight hours sleep a night.

“I honestly don’t think I’d be as successful if I was a party animal because I don’t think my personality would be as focused and open as it is.

Miss J, who has just released her new album, Alive, and is due to play Dublin's 02 on October 16th, added: “I won’t mention no names, but I’ve met artists who are so ‘on it’ when they’re on camera, or on stage, so the audience and the media thinks that they’re like that, and then you see them come off stage, and they’re mean, miserable and they’re late."
