One Show host Chris Evans is set for a return to Saturday night TV this weekend when he hosts the National Lottery on BBC One.
Evans is set to host the show for the next 13 weeks after an 18-year absence from Saturday night TV.
Speaking to the Radio Times he said he wanted a more prominent role on weekend TV screens saying "As it happens, I think I did my bit in (Famous and Fearless - Channel 4 gameshow from 2011) quite well. But there's real sense in waiting for the wind to blow back in your direction."
"When you're hot on TV, like I was from 1992 to 2000, you think people are buying your ideas, your formats, but they are not.
"They're buying the heat. They want to hire you. You start thinking you're a genius, but you aren't. With radio, I just waited and it all worked out. And what I'm doing with TV is just waiting. When the wind comes back, I will go."
The 47-year-old hosts a weekday BBC Radio 2 breakfast show and also The One Show on a Friday evening.
