Leighton Meester, Debra Messing and Greenday frontman Billie Joe Armstrong have all been cast in the forthcoming indie drama Like Sunday, Like Rain.
Gossip Girl star Meester takes the lead role as a struggling musician who becomes the guardian of a 12-year-old music prodigy, according to Deadline.
Armstrong will play Meester's on-screen boyfriend while Messing will play the music prodigy's mother.
Actor and director Frank Whaley, who starred in Pulp Fiction, will helm the project.
This is his fourth feature film, Whaley previously directed The Jimmy Show, Joe The King and New York City Serenade.
Filming on Like Sunday, Like Rain is said to be underway in New York.
