Argo star Ben Affleck has insisted that he's a "big boy" and can handle negative comments about his Batman appearance.

The 41-year-old actor, who is set to play the caped crusader in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel sequel, explained that he takes criticism about his acting with a pinch of salt.

Speaking on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Ben said: ''I'm a big boy. If I can handle an Emmy snub, I can handle anything. I handle ****, you know what I mean? I'm very tough.

''So I saw the announcement, I look at the first comment and it's like, 'Ben Affleck is going to be Batman' and the first one goes, 'Noooooooo!' ''

Affleck will star alongside Henry Cavill as Superman in the blockbuster Man of Steel sequel, which is due for release in 2015.
