Comic and writer Dylan Moran has agreed a deal with ABC Studios in the US to create, write and star in the pilot episode of a planned new series.
Deadline.com, which broke the story, says that under the deal Moran will also produce the pilot and the series, if it is ordered.
Moran will soon be seen on cinema screens opposite Brendan Gleeson and Chris O'Dowd in Calvary, the new film from The Guard director John Michael McDonagh.
