Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has denied reports that he will reunite with Star Trek into Darkness director JJ Abrams for the new Star Wars trilogy.
The New York Daily News claims that a spokesman for the 37-year-old actor said: "There is no truth to the rumour Benedict has been cast in Star Wars.
"I think the rumours are circling because JJ and Benedict have just recently had a wonderful time working together on Star Trek."
Star Wars: Episode VII is due to start filming in London early in 2014 ahead of release in 2015.
