Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle had to overdub some of her lines in upcoming festive movie The Christmas Candle because her accent is too thick.

The 52-year-old Scottish singer explained that she was concerned that her dialect would be too strong for viewers to understand.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, the I Dreamed A Dream singer said: "My Scottish accent was a bit thick in places so I had to re-record some of my lines so you wouldn't need subtitles. Note to self, must enunciate more."

The film, which is based on the novel by best-selling author Max Lucado, is due to hit the big screen later this year.
