An adaptation of sci-fi classic 12 Monkeys has been given a pilot order by TV channel Syfy.
The cable network has announced that it has ordered the project to pilot after initially considering "a straight-to-series pickup" for the drama.
Deadline reports that Syfy ordered a 60-minute episode of the proposed series, which is based on the 1995 movie starring Brad Pitt, Bruce Willis, and Revenge star Madeline Stowe.
The pilot has been written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett. The Terry Gilliam film is about a convicted criminal (Willis) who travels back in time to discover information about a deadly virus that had forced the future population to live underground.
