The Stag, the new Irish comedy starring Hugh O'Conor, Andrew Scott, Peter McDonald, Brian Gleeson and Amy Huberman, is tentatively scheduled for release in Ireland and the UK next Spring.
Screen Daily says Arrow Film Distributors will release the Treasure Entertainment film in Ireland and the UK, with Metro International Entertainment handling the world sales.
Co-written by actor McDonald and director John Butler, The Stag follows a group of friends who head off camping to the West of Ireland before the big day and also stars Michael Legge and Andrew Bennett.
Metro International partner Natalie Brenner said: "The Stag is a true gem that ticks all the boxes as a commercial comedy for the international market with its intelligence, emotional heart and non-stop laugh-out-loud moments.
"Treasure Entertainment and their brilliant writing/director team have created an impressive, entertaining movie."
The Stag will receive its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month and, having won the Directors Guild of America-Screen Directors Guild of Ireland's Finders Series, will screen for industry experts in the DGA Theatre in Los Angeles on September 20.
