Brendan Gleeson is to play the lead role in the pilot episode of a planned new HBO drama series, The Money.
Deadline.com says that the series focuses on wealth and corruption, with Gleeson playing media mogul and patriarch James Castman.
The Money has been written by David Milch whose other credits include Luck, Deadwood, NYPD Blue and Hill Street Blues.
If The Money gets a full season order, it will be Gleeson's first US TV series.
