Sinead Kennedy has said she is “excited” about working on Winning Streak.

The 30-year-old presenter was announced as the new host of the show at RTE’s Autumn Schedule launch.

Speaking about her new role Sinead said: “I’m nervous but I’m really excited. It’s such a big show and I’ve grown up watching it and I’m just really honoured to be able to do it.”

Sinead, who filled in temporarily on the show twice before, said that her new co-host, Marty Whelan, has helped to put her at ease.

“I’ve worked with Marty already and he was so relaxing cause obviously the last two times I found out I was filling in last-minute and I was freaking out”

She added: “Marty was so so good to me. He’s a legend and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Sinead currently hosts The Big Money Game on RTE One with Brian Ormond who she also worked with on You're a Star.

“Myself and Brian have a very close relationship and I forget that anything I tell him off-screen, he will use it against me.”

“One year, when we were working together on You’re a Star, we crashed an IFTAs after-party and I had no nail varnish so I decided to colour them in with black marker and Brian decided to tell everyone that Monday morning. It was so embarrassing. “

She added: “Hopefully with Marty I don’t have to worry about that.”
