Glee star Lea Michele has broken her silence following the death of her boyfriend, Cory Monteith.

The actress took to Twitter yesterday to thank her fans for their support following his death.

She wrote "Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart." The actress also attached a picture of her with Monteith.

31-year-old Monteith was found dead in a hotel room on July 13 in his native Canada with results later concluding that the actor had died from a mixture of drugs and alcohol.

Michele, who plays Rachel Berry on the musical drama, had been dating Monteith, who also played her on-screen love interest Finn Hudson on the show, for over a year.

It has been decided that the fifth-season premiere of Glee has been pushed back in the US until September 26th with co-creator Ryan Murphy saying they will pay tribute to the actor during the third episode.

Murphy said "The right thing to do for the show, at least at this point, is to have that character pass. When we do the tribute episode to that character, we'll have to do it in a way where the cast members will not have to re-create feelings of grief that they’ve had but do it in an upbeat way. If we can do this responsibly and help young people through these feelings, that’s the best that we can hope for."
