Following reports that JJ Abrams is leaving Star Wars: Episode VII, LucasFilm has released a statement to clarify the situation.
Speaking about the film at a conference last month, Abrams admitted that he was not looking forward to relocating his family for the shoot: "When I came into [the new Star Wars film] there was already a pre-arranged thing for them to be shooting in England, which really does make me insane.
"There's a whole lot of stuff happening at home. It's not an easy thing."
Apparently this sparked rumours about whether he was still on board the project and Badass Digest wrote: "I just want to make it clear that I never said Abrams is leaving. I'm just saying that I have heard rumours from many sources that he's been considering/threatening it.
"Other web types have heard the same. We've all been hearing it for months."
However in response to a request from IGN, LucasFilm denied the rumours, stating: "There is no truth to the rumour. JJ is having a great time working on the script and is looking forward to going into production next year."
