For all you animal lovers out there, the first of a new three part series about London Zoo kicks off on UTV tonight. The show has been given exclusive behind-the-scenes access to film the lives of the animals and staff.
There is plenty of drama in the series, from the arrival of a testosterone-filled gorilla and ground-breaking surgery on chimpanzees. The opening episode focuses on the zoo's new Sumatran tigers. Two members of the critically endangered species are introduced to each other, and the staff hope that they will get on well enough to eventually reproduce.
Restoration Home, 8pm BBC Two
In the first episode of this new series about buildings facing a struggle for survival, and the people determined to turn them into their dream homes, Caroline Quentin meets Alex and Martin. The pair have bought Rock Fram, a Georgian house that has become a crumbling shell. As they set about restoring it on a tight budget, layers of Rock Farm's long lost history are revealed before the cameras.
