The Harry Potter star has been lined up to voice a new character on The Simpsons.

23-year-old Daniel Radcliffe has previously starred on the animated show as Edmund, son of Dracula, in the 2010 episode called Treehouse of Horror XXI.

This time round Daniel will play Diggs, a “screwed up” boy who runs into Bart, reports Entertainment Weekly.

Executive producer Al Jean said: "Diggs is a combination of Holden Caulfield, Finny from A Separate Peace and the kids in Lord of the Flies - only a little more screwed up."

Other stars due to voice characters on the 25th season of The Simpsons include Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett, Eva Longoria and Elisabeth Moss.
