Author Gillian Flynn is fast becoming the Adele of the publishing world as her global hit Gone Girl returns to the top of the Irish bestsellers for the sixth time this year.

The suspense novel about a self-destructing marriage has now sold a total of 410,000 copies in Ireland and the UK and is due to hit the big screen in a movie adaptation.

Director David Fincher has been rumoured to be involved with the project and Bradley Cooper and Jessica Chastain have also been mentioned in speculation about the starring roles.
