X-Factor 2010 runner-up Olly Murs has said that he was shocked by the egg-throwing antics during the live final of Britain's Got Talent last weekend.

The 29-year-old Dear Darlin' singer, who is set to support Robbie Williams at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin tonight, insisted that the behaviour of viola player, Natalie Holt, was uncalled for.

Speaking about the incident to RTÉ TEN, Murs said: “Wow. I mean I didn’t expect someone to do that to Simon if I’m honest. It obviously seemed like a bitter ex-contestant. I don’t know what the reasons behind it were, but it seemed like someone who was very bitter. No one deserves to be egged on.”

He added: “Simon is a very nice man and does loads of charity. He’s done a lot for myself and my career. He’s a very kind nice guy.

“I don’t think it was a very clever thing to do. I suppose Simon like most people watching it were shocked, but on the other side found it quite funny as well.”
