Love/Hate producers Suzanne McAuley and Steve Matthews and director David Caffrey are in Monte-Carlo for the 53rd Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, where the RTÉ series was nominated for two awards.

The crime drama was nominated for Best International Drama TV Series and Best European Drama TV Series.

Breaking Bad and Denmark's Borgen won the awards in the two categories, but Love/Hate received a great reaction at the awards ceremony in the Grimaldi Forum and has been much-discussed at the festival.

Producer Suzanne McAuley said: "We are thrilled to have been nominated for such a prestigious international award as the Golden Nymph."

She continued: "There's an amazing atmosphere here in Monaco – it's a wonderful moment for Love/Hate to be acknowledged and recognised on the world stage. We celebrated in style last night – they really know how to throw a party here!"

A cocktail reception was held for guests at the Palace, with the post-awards dinner held at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club where music was provided by Chic.

During the festivities the Love/Hate team met Prince Albert II of Monaco and Irish actor Stuart Townsend.
