Ulrika Jonsson has shared her support for Kate Winslet and congratulated the actress following her pregnancy news with husband Ned Rocknroll.

Jonsson spoke up following a controversial article about 37-year-old Winslet in The Daily Telegraph, which said: "Three children by three different fathers doesn’t look good on anyone.

"To paraphrase Lady Bracknell: to have children by two men may be regarded as a misfortune, to have children by three looks like carelessness."

She wrote in an article in The Sun: "Speaking from the immoral high ground of a woman who has four children by four fathers, I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Kate and Ned.

"But I can hear the murmurs from my happy family home - the tuts are deafening. The idea that a woman might have multiple children with multiple men is unacceptable to some.

"For much of society, it's a hard pill to swallow, yet with the increasing breakdown of relationships it's becoming more common.

"I recall announcing my fourth pregnancy by my fourth long-term partner (and third husband) in 2007.

"It was met with overwhelming pessimism from those who thought it was highly indecent or nefarious to even consider giving in to my maternal instincts."

The 45-year-old presenter added: "Clint Eastwood has seven children with five women; Mick Jagger has seven with four; Rod Stewart now has eight kids with five women.

"These facts are rarely, if ever, mentioned by those same people who pour scorn and derision on women who have children by more than one man."
