Spring Breakers star James Franco has joined the cast of The Little Prince.

The 35-year-old actor will lend his voice to the forthcoming big screen adaptation of the classic French novel of the same name.

Jeff Bridges, Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Benicio Del Toro and Paul Giamatti have also signed up to be part of the voice cast ensemble, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne is set to helm the motion picture, with Aton Soumache and Dimitri Rassam in line to produce the film.

The movie tells the story of a pilot (Bridges) who crash lands in the Sahara desert and his encounter with a little boy claiming to be a prince.

It was not revealed which roles the other actors were taking on.

The book, published Le Petit Prince in 1943 and translated from French into dozens of languages, proved to be a hit due to its philosophical nature.
