Two and a Half Men will introduce a female lead character to replace Angus T Jones for its upcoming 11th season.

The CBS sitcom will bring in the daughter of Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen's former character) to take over from Angus T Jones, whose character Jake will not be a series regular in the next season.

According to Deadline, Ashton Kutcher and Jon Cryer will be joined by a girl character who will be in their late teens or early 20s.

The new character will turn up at Walden Schmidt's (Kutcher) house looking for her father, the recently deceased Charlie. She will eventually end up moving in with Walden and Alan Harper (Jon Cryer).

It was confirmed earlier this year that Angus T Jones would be stepping down from a full-time role on the show.

His exit followed an incident last year when he branded the series "filth" and urged people to stop watching it.
