Louis Walsh has been busy - he is in the middle of a search for a new boyband and is taking time out this Bank Holiday to present a show on RTÉ 2fm.

Speaking to RTÉ TEN, Walsh said: "2fm helped me so much with Boyzone. I always remember them with the Beat on the Street with Westlife, Samantha Mumba and Ronan Keating. It's always been my favourite station in Ireland."

Walsh is going to present a show this bank holiday Monday June 3: "On the show I'm going to play my very favourites. I'm going to put in lots of Irish songs I'm going to pick a few obscure songs that people don't know about. I'm not going to pick boyband songs, it's a boyband free zone.

"I love oldies, I love Roy Orbison, I love Patsy Cline, I love Van Morrisson, I love ABBA, I love Joe Dolan. I love everything, I love Thin Lizzy, I love all kinds of music. I actually like music, believe it or not."

Listen in to Louis Walsh this Bank Holiday Monday, June 3 from 10am to 12pm via the RTÉ Radio Player, www.rte.ie/radioplayer or via the RTÉ Radio App on your mobile/device

"You won't get me on the oldies, I know more than John Clarke and Larry Gogan on the oldies, I'll name the song, the singer and everything about it."

We feel a challenge coming on, that could be another radio show? "Yeah, Larry, me and John? Great, I'm the youngest, let's do that!"
