CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (9.00pm, RTÉ Two)
Back for a remarkable 13th season, the original of the species takes over from CSI:NY and keeps the double-bill trail going. In the season opener Ecklie fights for his life after his shooting, while Russell's patience begins to wear thin as the team tries to get to his kidnapped granddaughter before she is killed. Later, the CSI investigates team a massacre at a local diner, leading to the team suspecting that one of the victims' stalkers is the shooter.
Frankie (9.00pm, BBC One)
Moved from Tuesdays to make way for Alan Sugar’s The Apprentice, this fine medical drama starring Eve Holmes in the titular role continues to be one of the surprises of the year. Frankie is determined to take charge of her personal life, repainting her house, changing her locks and throwing out Ian’s stuff. But her professional life is under strain as the circumstances of Liana Corden’s death are investigated. Frankie finds herself in need of the support of her team more than ever.
Chicago Fire (8.00pm, Sky Living)
The Firehouse 51 crew dice with death in the explosive season one finale. Casey and the squad are no strangers to danger, but when the entire team become trapped at the county jail, fear and uncertainty fill the air. As the odds mount against the crew, unresolved issues come to a head for Dawson and Pete. Tissues at the ready later on as events affect Shay and Severide’s plans to start a family and the arrival of Cindy Herrmann’s baby.
