The post-football hype around David Beckham has already started as he's being linked to Tom Cruise and movies as well as a restaurant venture with Gordon Ramsay.
A source told the Daily Star: "David has always wanted to be a leading man in action films and Tom [Cruise] promised him a long time ago he could make those dreams come true.
"And now that Becks has called time on football, he is ready for his friend to make good on his promise.
"David feels that now is the time to transition into films while he's still young enough to land the top-notch roles.''
Meanwhile, Becks and Gordon Ramsay are reportedly wanted for a new Las Vegas restaurant.
Tycoon Steve Wynn is said to be putting together a big-money deal to secure their services for his Wynn Resort, according to The Sun.
He is apparently planning a new sports bar and grill on his complex, and feels the two would be perfect for the new venture.
A source said: "The Strip has never seen such fierce competition for food, but Gordon's places are full seven nights a week. He's one of the best chefs in the world, so it's only natural that Steve feels he should have a place in his hotel as it's the most luxurious on The Strip.
"When you add David Beckham's global status into the mix it has the potential to be the most talked-about restaurant in Vegas.
"Steve Wynn hasn't cared about money since he became a billionaire after rejuvenating The Strip in the early '90s.
"His ambition is quite simply to have the best hotels in the world. He spent more than £2 billion doing that with the Wynn Resort and thinks Gordon and David can make it even better."
Gordon Ramsay already owns three places in Vegas, his BurGR bar at Planet Hollywood, a steak house at Paris and the Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace.
Beckham and Ramsay have already teamed up for their first restaurant venture, Union Street Cafe, which is scheduled to open near London's Borough Market in September.
