It has been announced that Mariska Hargitay has signed on for season 15 of the long-running crime procedural Law & Order: SVU.
The actress took to Twitter over the weekend to announce the news saying "Happy weekend. It's official. Season 15 - I'LL BE BACK! xx m."
TV Line reports that the agreement with NBC came after months of tough negotiations. The 49-year-old actress, who plays Olivia Benson on the series, is reported to make $500,000 an episode. She has been on the show since 1999.
Production on the new season begins shortly.
