Former Emmerdale actor Ayden Callaghan has revealed that his Hollyoaks character Joe Roscoe has a "dark past".
The 31-year-old actor made his first appearance in Chester this week as Joe, the eldest of the five Roscoe brothers.
Speaking to Buckingham Today, about his character Callaghan said: "It's a great character, I'm really chuffed. He's the alpha male, there's no nonsense with him at all.
"He's a guy who's full of love and passion, but there is another side to him. There is a dark past there that he's trying to subdue."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4,
