Fast & Furious 7 will film in Japan and the Middle East, according to the movie's leading man Vin Diesel.

The 45-year-old action star also revealed that the next instalment of the high octane adventure will be partly shot in the US.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Diesel said: ''We're definitely going back home, as you know from seeing Fast & Furious 6.

''We will have a stint in Tokyo and there is the Middle East next, that could be very interesting.''

The next movie will also have a new director as Justin Lin is set to bow out, giving Saw helmer James Wan the opportunity to take over.

Fast & Furious 6 is set in London, while the previous film, Fast Five, was set in Rio de Janeiro.
