The County Tyrone native finished in the top ten in the semi-final in Malmo in Sweden with his self-composed song Only Love Survives.
He told Colm Hayes on 2fm: “I’m still buzzing here from last night. It’s been a great week over here for me and I’m having a great time and last night was amazing.
"This is a great opportunity for me and I’m really grateful I got the opportunity to do it.
"It’s been an exciting week for me, I released my album on Monday and it’s doing really well, I think it’s number six in the Irish album charts."
Dolan also spoke about the possibility of touring in Europe after the competition, saying: "In Russia a few weeks ago, just before this all started, just as we were meeting Dina who’s representing Russia, I met up with a few interesting people from record companies and they seem really interested so it’s going to be an exciting time when it’s all over.
He explaned that he doesn't tend to get stage fright, saying: "I get a few butterflies before I go on stage but I try and relax as much as possible; the nerves kick in afterwards when you’re waiting for the results to come through. I felt really comfortable on the stage and the audience was great and gave me a really good reception."
