It seems the success of the recent documentary Good Cake Bad Cake: The Story of Lir has inspired the Dublin band to play their first gig in 18 months.
The band play Whelans on June 22nd, their first gig in the venue in five years.
Shimmy Marcus' documentary on the band won critical acclaim on its release earlier this year and reawakened interest in the band who were on the verge of an international breakthrough in the mid-1990s.

The band released heir debut album Magico Magico in 1993 and based themselves in the States for a number of years, touring relentlessly and releasing a follow-up album, Nest.
On their return to Ireland, they scored another hit single with There are more things, the theme tune to the hugely successful Irish Feature film I Went Down starring Brendan Gleeson and Peter McDonald.
In recent years, the band members have pursued other projects but have usually reconvened for a LIR concert on an annual basis.
Tickets for the Whelans show are €13.50 including booking fee available to buy online from www.wavtickets.ie or call
