Lauren’s drinking problem is set to intensify in Eastenders in the coming weeks with the character of Tanya left devastated when she realises the extent of her daughter’s addiction.
Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) finally confesses to her mother how her problem has spiralled out of control after she hits a low ebb. The character finds herself drinking alone in the allotments where she is discovered by Patrick (Rudolph Walker) who gives her the benefit of his experience.
She confides in him and they trash out her problems. He advises her to talk to her mother (Jo Joyner). She goes home and admits to her that she drinks as she cannot live up to her sister Abi in her mother’s eyes. She also tells her she cannot remember the last day she went without a drink.
